In his article entitled ‘‘Till September: The PA’s Meaningless Deadlines’’, dated February 26, Ramzy Baroud fails to present the real picture of the Palestinian situation today.
Characterizing the Palestinian leadership as a ‘‘self designated Palestinian leadership in the West Bank’’, Mr. Baroud wittingly ignores some facts while distorting others. In fact, it was Hamas that has refused until this day to sign the Egyptian-brokered reconciliation agreement. The so-called “Palestine papers” have not revealed a single official agreement or document that offers concessions. Rather, the majority of the documents were internal draft summaries of meetings taken in shorthand and intended for personal use only.

Dear Dr Erakat,
I am one of those who have followed what the PLO under the leadership of Mr Abbas and his close associates has been doing. You have been dubbed as the chief negotiator. In fact, you have been too eager to be presented as the chief negotiator! But that matter I will leave aside for the time being. (I may come back to this point some time later.)
I am fully aware of the problems the Palestinians have faced and are facing. But isn’t it true that at the biddings of America and Zionist Israel, the present PA leadership acquiesced in the Zionist genocide in Gaza two years ago? It is not a secret any more because many of us in the world know fully well the facts about the PA’s role in this genocide. Were you not all not accomplices in this crime? What was the objective of the American-Zionist plan that was helped by the PA? To destroy Hamas who had an electoral mandate in Gaza by a a free and free election. Why? Because that went against the wishes of America, Israel, and, of course, the PA.
Dr Erakat, I read your reply to Mr Baroud. You write well to defend yourself. I wish you had defended your people as well as you defend yourself against the charges against you!
For your reply I give you one point out of 5; otherwise you as a leader deserve one big zero. Nothing more.
