The Legend of 9/11 — 10 Years On

September 11, 2011

By Anthony Lawson,  alawson911 , 2. sep. 2011

This video concentrates on the two major 9/11 issues: The Unidentified Planes and The Controlled Demolitions. Nothing else. It does not mention the NORAD stand–down; the don’t-fly and don’t-go-to-work warnings or the Dancing Israelis or any of the other anomalies and suspicious happenings. The alleged amateur suicide pilots are not mentioned, either, for obvious reasons, and I do not know what happened to the allegedly hijacked planes or their alleged passengers and crews. It is my contention that the 9/11 Truth Movement has got to concentrate on the most blatant and provable lies in the official story, and stop trying to be an amateur Police Precinct or a citizen’s District Attorney’s Office. The Movement must bring pressure to bear in the authorities for a new enquiry, so that the police, the FBI, the NTSB and all of the other law enforcement and investigative agencies can do what should have been done 10 years ago: Find out who was responsible for the crime of the attacks on 9/11 and bring them to justice. While I was thinking about a video for the 10th anniversary of 9/11, an English artist named David Borrington got in touch, and asked if I would write and record some voice commentaries to be included in a set of prints that he was making for the same occasion. When I saw his strangely haunting artwork, I decided to incorporate David’s images into my video. So, my sincere thanks go to David Borrington, whose website is http://www.davidborrington.comI would also like to recommend that anyone who is interested in the research done on the Murray Street engine take a look at Christopher King’s excellent web page:

Imperial Delusions: Ignoring the Lessons of 9/11

September 10, 2011
by Robert Jensen, CommonDreams.org,  Sept. 9, 2011

Ten years ago, critics of America’s mad rush to war were right, but it didn’t matter.

Within hours after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, it was clear that political leaders were going to use the attacks to justify war in Central Asia and the Middle East. And within hours, those of us critical of that policy began to offer principled and practical arguments against aggressive war as a response to the crimes.

It didn’t matter because neither the public nor policymakers were interested in principled or practical arguments. People wanted revenge, and the policymakers seized the opportunity to use U.S. military power. Critical thinking became a mark not of conscientious citizenship but of dangerous disloyalty.

Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup – Full Length Movie

September 10, 2011

A Prelude to the War of Terror

By Nasir Khan

This famous documentary film, Loose Change 9/11, was produced in 2006 that challenged the official explanation of the attacks of  September 11, 2001. It also aroused  a great deal of controversy; it had its supporters and opponents.

I am not an expert on the technical details of the attacks which the U.S. authorities offered or the views of those who contradict or refute  the official version as in this film; therefore, I refrain from passing any final  word on the issues  involved. However, I try to find more about the events and  will continue to do so because this tragic date became the sign-post, which was  used by the  Bush-Cheney administration to  start the wars of  aggression and global terror that resulted in the occupation and destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan,  the  deaths of  more than a million people and the uprooting  of the  millions of people. The present U.S. adminstarion under President Obama has not only continued the wars of aggression of his prdecessor but also extended them to other countries and areas by using advanced techonlogical means such as drone attacks to kill and destroy with impunity and without any accoutability for his actions to anyone in the world.

No matter  who were the actual criminals or conspirators who committed the crimes on 9/11 that resulted in the deaths of 2749 Americans, one thing is absolutely clear that the people of Iraq and its ruler Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the 9/11.  The people or the rulers of Afghanistan or Pakistan were not involved  in this crime either.  Even if  any individual from Afghanistan or Pakistan may have been involved in this crime in some way or the other that should have been the  act of an individual. The people of Afghanistan or Pakistan had no part in such a crime, but they are still being killed by  the  U.S-led NATO forces and American drone attacks.

I assume it is only fair that  viewers should have a chance to see the whole film open-mindedly, without any  mental inhibitions.  Whether they  agree with every single detail of the happenings or  not is for each individual to discuss and decide after a critical scrutiny of the  well-known  story. But there is no doubt that some  viewers will have some questions about the main course and the details of the  events. Those who are interested in finding the facts will have to do some research themselves to find the  answers to such questions. No doubt, the matter is complicated and it is not easy to disentangle the facts from the legends. Consequently, there lies the challenge to those who aspire to find the truth about the 9/11.

Acting Beyond the UN Mandate

September 9, 2011

In Western circles of influential opinion, the outcome of the NATO intervention in Libya has already been pronounced ‘a victory’ from several points of view: as a military success that achieved its main goals set at acceptable costs, as a moral success in averting a humanitarian catastrophe, and as a political success that created an opportunity for freedom and constitutionalism on behalf of a long oppressed people. This is one of those rare results in an international conflict situation that seems to please both conservatives and liberals. Conservatives because it was a show of force that reaffirmed Western primacy based on military power. Liberals because force was used with UN backing in accordance with international law and in furtherance of human rights and liberal values.

Baha Mousa, 26, a widower and father of two young children, died after enduring 93 separate injuries as a result of being kicked, punched and restrained by soldiers in Basra in September 2003.

He was one of 10 innocent men rounded up as suspected insurgents after weapons were found in the hotel at which seven of them worked. In addition to the assaults and humiliation, which began almost immediately upon arrest, soldiers from the 1st Battalion Queen’s Lancashire Regiment subjected the men to painful and inhumane interrogation techniques that had been banned for more than 30 years.

September may bring the death of the two-state solution – and the Jewish state

September 9, 2011

What happens when the Palestinians realize come September that UN recognition doesn’t change their lives, that the settlements continue to expand, and the occupation continues?

By Carlo Strenger, Haaretz, Sep. 8, 2011

The diplomatic tsunami of September is building up. So far, neither the U.S. nor the EU has been able to dissuade the Palestinian Authority from its bid for UN recognition.

It seems that the Palestinians no longer have a way out. Given that they do not see the Netanyahu government as a bona fide partner on the route toward a viable state, they are bereft of an alternative strategy.

The Netanyahu government has known but one tactic vis-à-vis the Palestinian bid for UN recognition: working against it.

It is bracing for the head-on collision with the UN recognition of Palestine, and hopes to score a ‘moral victory’ if major EU countries like Germany, France and the U.K. either abstain or vote against this recognition.

How history is made

September 9, 2011

Far from being “mechanical,” Karl Marx and Frederick Engels’ view of society stresses how people make history, though not in conditions of their choosing.

Paul D’Amato, Socialist Worker, August 28, 2009 | Issue 704

IT IS often argued that the Marxist view of history allows no room for conscious human intervention–that to Marxists, everything which happens in the realm of political conflicts and class struggle is merely a passive reflection of what goes on at the economic “base,” and history charts a predetermined course according to historical laws, irrespective of the actions of individuals or groups.

In short, Marxism is often accused of being mechanical, fatalist and “reductionist” (that is, reducing everything to economic changes).

Many of these critiques trace the roots of this “mechanical” Marxism back to Marx’s close collaborator Frederick Engels, who, it is claimed, diverged from Marx’s ideas and laid the groundwork for the mechanical materialism of Stalinism, which viewed history as merely a succession of modes of production, each automatically sprouting from the previous.

P C Roberts: The 10th Anniversary of 9/11

September 9, 2011

By Paul Criag Roberts, opednews.com, Sept. 8, 2011

Earlier this week, I talked to James Corbett of Global Research TV (GRTV) about the significance of the 9/11 attack and  its effect on this nation as we are nearing the 10th anniversary of those events. As Corbett said, we discussed “…the many points at which the official explanation of 9/11 do not mesh with the available evidence, the many experts who have raised their voices in dissent (and been silenced), and what our response to 9/11 teaches us about where we are heading as a society.”

I feel that, at this time in our history, this discussion is critical. Watch the interview below.

Comparing Obama and Bush on Civil Liberties and War

September 8, 2011

Ivan Eland,Antiwar.com,  Sep. 7, 2011

Obama and Bush

Documents found in the files of Muammar Gadhafi’s intelligence services in Libya, which indicated that the now overthrown dictator cooperated closely with U.S. rendition of terrorist suspects to his torture chambers, should prompt questions about how much President Barack Obama has improved civil liberties from the bad old days of George W. Bush. Answer: not much.

Obama’s first promise in office was to close the infamous and torture-tainted U.S. military prison at Guantanamo within a year, which he abysmally failed to do. Granted, the Republican Congress has blocked the transfer of prisoners from the offshore facility to mainland civilian courts, but Obama, despite his prominent pledge, has failed to make the issue a top priority. The main reason he hasn’t is because politicians of all political stripes read public opinion polls indicating that the American people would rather be safe than free. The politicians should not be surprised by this outcome, because it is they who have scared Americans into preferring “security” at the expense of civil liberties.
